Windmill (card game)

Windmill is a solitaire card game played with two decks of playing cards;[1] it is a relatively mechanical game that isn't won that frequently.

[2] It is so called because of its distinctive initial layout, which resembles a windmill's sails.

The gaps at the corner of the "sails" are reserved for kings and form the secondary foundations.

There is also an alternate variation wherein the direction of building on the primary and secondary foundations is reversed.

In this variation, the primary foundation starts with a laid-out king and is built down while the secondary foundations start with the first available aces and are built up.
