Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and Nine Inch Nails's "Happiness in Slavery" were both nominated for the Best Metal Performance, with the latter winning.

The album was certified Platinum by the Music Canada in 1994 and the Recording Industry Association of America in 1995.
