Words and Pictures is a British literacy educational television programme as part of the BBC Schools strand from 31 March 1970 to 16 March 2007.

The programme is a spin-off from Look and Read, which was already providing the same type of practice and encouragement for older children.

It is aimed at primary school children aged between 5 and 7.
