Xinmin Weekly

Xinmin Weekly (simplified Chinese: 新民周刊; traditional Chinese: 新民週刊; pinyin: Xīnmín Zhōukān), literally meaning "New People Weekly",[1] or "New Citizen Weekly",[2] is a weekly news magazine published in Shanghai, China.

[3][4] It is owned by the Shanghai United Media Group.

The magazine was officially launched on January 4, 1999.

[5] As of September 2024[update], the Media and Journalism Research Center evaluated the parent company of Xinmin Weekly, the Shanghai United Media Group, to be "State Controlled Media" under its State Media Matrix.
