Yael Hochberg

Yael Hochberg (Hebrew: יעל הוכברג) is an American economist and the Ralph S. O'Connor Professor of entrepreneurship and finance at Rice University.

Hochberg graduated from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, where she earned her MA in economics, and PhD in finance from the Stanford University.

[1][3] Hochberg simultaneously holds a Research Affiliate position at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she was previously a visiting faculty member.

[4] Outside of her university career, Hochberg has held positions in entrepreneurship firms including a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Managing Director of the Seed Accelerator Rankings Project, and an Associate Editor of Journal of Banking and Finance and the Journal of Empirical Finance.

[8] She was the recipient of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Prize Medal for Distinguished Research in Entrepreneurship in 2016.
