He progressively extended his field of activity to also work on cases linked with other countries.

[1] In a recent NGO report it was pointed out that as a judge at the European Court of Human Rights he seated in eight cases where the Helsinki Committee was involved and one for the Open Society Justice Initiative, thus posing the question of possible conflicts of interest.
