York Street, Albany

It runs south from a junction with Albany Highway, Lockyer Avenue and Middleton Road downhill towards Princess Royal Drive and the Anzac Peace Park at the foot of the hill adjacent to Princess Royal Harbour.

As a historic street, with streetscape and precinct into adjoining Stirling Terrace,[1] it has the Albany Town Hall, opened in 1888,[2] and other buildings of significance.

[6] Alison Hartman Gardens is situated next to the Town Square along York Street close to the centre of Albany.

[8] The Albany Advertiser has its office in lower York Street.
