[3][4][5] During her studies at high school and university Al Barbari participated in demonstrations against the British rulers of Palestine supporting the invalidation of the Balfour Declaration and ending of the Jewish immigration to the region.
[1] Al Barbari was elected as a member of the first Palestine National Council organized in Jerusalem in May 1964 during which the PLO was formed.
