She won a bronze medal in the women's 3000 metre relay at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

She became the champion in the 1000m and 1500m at the 2nd stage of the Elite League of the China Cup in Short Track Speed Skating in the 2018–2019 season.

At the race in Montreal, Canada, she won gold medals in the women's and mixed relays.

In February 2020, in Dordrecht, she won a silver medal in the 1000 m. Zhang also participated in the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne and took 6th place in the 1000 m, 8th in the 500 m, and 5th in the mixed relay.

Two days later, as part of the women's team, she won a bronze medal in the 3000 m relay.
