Indurkani Upazila

Indurkani, also known as Zianagar, is an upazila, or sub-district, of the Pirojpur District in Barisal Division, Bangladesh.

On 21 April 2002, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia renamed Indurkani into Zianagar Upazila.

On 9 January 2017, the National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reform led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina renamed Zianagar Upazila back to Indurkani Upazila.

[8] According to the 2011 Census of Bangladesh, Indurkani Upazila had 17,199 households and a population of 77,217.

Indurkani has a literacy rate (age 7 and over) of 61.2%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 1036 females per 1000 males.
