[citation needed] In the 1993–94 season, Szwed finished eighth at the World Junior Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado and second at the Polish Championships, both times finishing behind Anna Rechnio, who was selected to compete at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer.
In the 1994–95 season, Szwed won gold at the 1994 Karl Schäfer Memorial ahead of Krisztina Czakó and Maria Butyrskaya.
Ranked 15th in the short and second in the free, she finished seventh overall at the 1995 World Junior Championships in Budapest.
She works as a coach and choreographer at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
