Åke Hammarskjöld

Åke Wilhelm Hjalmar Hammarskjöld (April 10, 1893 – July 7, 1937) was a Swedish lawyer and diplomat.

During the First World War, he was a member of a committee of the Swedish government which worked out the basis for Sweden's participation in the legal organization of the postwar order.

After the war, he served as secretary of the delegation of his country at the Paris Peace Conference.

On October 8 of the same year he was elected as a judge of the Permanent Court of International Justice.

Åke Hammarskjöld became a member of the Institut de Droit International in 1925.
