The 1992 season was the first season in the top Ukrainian football league for Shakhtar Donetsk.
Shakhtar Donetsk competed in Vyshcha Liha and Ukrainian Cup, earlier Shakhtar was eliminated from the 1991–92 Soviet Cup.
