Contested at 160 laps on the 2.5 mile (4.023 km) speedway, it was the 20th race of the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series season.
It is located on the corner of 16th Street and Georgetown Road, approximately six miles (10 km) west of Downtown Indianapolis.
[1] Late in the race, Dale Jarrett leads, but fourth-place Bobby Labonte is the only car in the top five that can go the distance without pitting for fuel.
Bob Jenkins and 1973 Cup Series champion Benny Parsons called the race from the broadcast booth.
