The Terrapins were members of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium in College Park, Maryland.

They were led by fifth-year head coach Rob Vaughn.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Terrapins were selected to play in the 2021 NCAA tournament, beginning in the Greenville Regional.

The Terrapins would eventually lose in the second round of the Greenville Regional to East Carolina by a score of 9–6.
