2023–24 Georgetown Hoyas women's basketball team

The Hoyas, led by interim head coach Darnell Haney, played their home games at McDonough Arena in Washington, D.C. as a member of the Big East Conference.

[1] As the #9 seed in the Big East tournament, they defeated #8 seed Butler in the first round,[2] before falling to top-seeded and eventual tournament champions UConn in the quarterfinals.

[3] On March 13, 2023, the school announced that head coach James Howard's contract would not be renewed, ending his six-year tenure.

[5] On September 21, the school announced that Butts would be taking a leave of absence, in order to focus on her ongoing battle with breast cancer, with associate head coach Darnell Haney being named interim head coach in her absence.

[6] On October 23, it was announced that Butts had died at the age of 41, after a two-year battle with breast cancer.
