The 2025 season will be the San Francisco 49ers' 76th in the National Football League (NFL), their 80th overall, their 12th playing their home games at Levi's Stadium and their ninth under the head coach/general manager tandem of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch.
For this season, the 49ers will attempt to improve on their 6–11 record from last year and return to the playoffs after a one-year absence.
This season marks the return of Robert Saleh as defensive coordinator, replacing Nick Sorensen, who was fired by the team after a single season.
