[1][2] Avudaiappan (K. Bhagyaraj), a private detective, develops suspicion over Shiva (Pa. Vijay), who lives with his family in Chennai.

The flashback shows Shiva lives happily with family consisting his father (S.A. Chandrasekhar), his mother (Meera Krishnan) and his sister, Aaruthra (Yuvasri Lakshmi).

Shiva has a friend named Nambi (Vignesh) but his betrayal leads Aaruthra get raped and killed.
