In addition to his immense contributions in the fields of literature and linguistics, He is also an outstanding litterateur; his numerous written works include stories and Urdu to Dhivehi translations.

[2][3][4] Sodiq has been in the service of the Government for the past 55 years and continues his contributions as a Consultant at the Dhivehi Bahuge Academy.

[3][5] Sodiq served the longest at the then Centre for Linguistic and Historical Research- where he has been in service of for the past 30 years.

[2] He has also published numerous literacy works on the usage guidelines of the Dhivehi, and is noted for his contributions in the field of historical research, teaching and tutoring.

[3][6][7] In 2019, he was appointed as an advisors to the then Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
