In 1944 the Aberfeldie Community Centre was established to promote football, cricket, tennis, lawn bowls, gymnastics, swimming and basketball, as well as other social and cultural events.

This led to the formation of the Aberfeldie Sports Club (formed in 1974; incorporated in 1987) a family oriented club that began as a community-based sporting organisation in 1948 and today is the home of local grass-roots Australian Rules Football and cricket.
