Abu Yousuf Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman

Mahfuzur Rahman, (1 October 1942 – 23 September 1981) was a Bangladeshi army officer who served as a sub-sector commander during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

When the Bangladesh Liberation War began on 25 March 1971, he was a captain in the 8th East Bengal Regiment, which revolted against Pakistan.

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1977 and served as the Commanding Officer of 4th East Bengal Regiment.

Later he served as the General Staff Officer I of 24th Infantry Division and Personal Secretary to the President of Bangladesh.
