Abukari Sumani (born 28 April 1946) was a former Lawyer and an ambassador of Ghana to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the Gulf states.
[1] He was also a politician and a former Member of parliament for the Tamale North Constituency of the Northern Region of Ghana.
[4] Sumani was a member of the Dagbon royal family and a former board chair of the Public Procurement Authority.
[6] He contested again in the 2004 General Elections as a candidate for the Tamale North constituency and won with a total number of 37,854 votes making 73.2% of the total votes cast.
[8] He contested in the 2012 elections and lost to an independent Candidate Dahamani Alhassan.
