Achthoven is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht.

It is a part of the municipality of Montfoort, and lies about 6 km northwest of IJsselstein.

[3] Achthoven is sometimes divided into two hamlets: Achthoven-West and Achthoven-Oost.

[2] It was first mentioned in 1306 as "van dien achtehoeven", and means "eight parcels of land".

[4] Achthoven is not a statistical entity,[5] and the postal authorities have placed it under Montfoort.
