The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.88% White, 0.66% African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.73% from other races, and 1.29% from two or more races.
There were 1,266 households, out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.4% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.9% were non-families.
27.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
