[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 11.3 km2 (4.4 mi2), of which 11.0 km2 (4.3 mi2) is land and 0.3 km2 (0.1 mi2) (2.51%) is water.

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 3,633 people, 1,235 households, and 1,037 families residing in the CDP.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.20% White, 1.05% African American, 0.03% Native American, 1.13% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.61% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races.

There were 1,235 households, out of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.7% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.0% were non-families.

13.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
