After primary school, Adele completed the one-year exchange in Romandy, as it was custom for young women at the time to learn the French language whilst working in a household.

[11][12] On her 95th birthday she learnt that the Migros cooperative Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund (MGB) bought her husband's birthplace at Strehlgasse 13 in Zürich.
The burial at the cemetery in Rüschlikon, alongside her husband, was followed by a funeral service in the Fraumünster church, which was filled to the last seat.
