Akbar Ayub Khan

He has served as Minister of Communication and Work department, Education, Local Government, Elections, and Rural Development, as well as holding additional responsibilities for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, and Human Rights ministry.

In the 2014 by-elections, he contested as a member of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf from the PK-50 Haripur-II constituency and emerged victorious, defeating both his opponents from the PMLN and an independent candidate.

Furthermore, he was assigned additional responsibilities, including holding the portfolios for Law, Parliamentary Affairs, and Human Rights ministry in February 2021, which he took over from Sultan Muhammad Khan.

Akbar Ayub Khan resigned as the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Human Rights, and Parliamentary Affairs in August 2021, citing health issues and his responsibilities towards his constituency.

On 18th July 2024 he was also appointed District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) Chairman of Haripur by the Chief Minister of Kpk Ali Amin Gandapur.
