Al-Umar-Mujahideen (Urdu: العمر مجاہدین, Hindi: अल उमर मुजाहिदीन) is a Pakistani Islamist militant organisation created by Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar in 1989[4] operating in the Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir.

[5] The group was a split from the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front which then gained members from JKLF, Ikhwan-ul-Muslimeen, and Al-Madad.

[6][3] In 1992, the leader of the group, Zargar, was arrested on multiple murder counts in Srinagar before being released for the passengers in Kandahar, Afghanistan from the hijacked IC 814 flight.

[7] over the years, at least three dozen murder cases were registered against Zargar in Srinagar, including for alleged killings of high-ranking Indian officers.

[8] He was released from jail on 31 December 1999 as part of the Indian Airlines Flight 814 hostage deal and provided safe passage to Pakistan.
