Alatyrsky District (Russian: Ала́тырский райо́н; Chuvash: Улатăр районӗ, Ulatăr rayonĕ) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in the Chuvash Republic, Russia.

The area of the district is 1,940 square kilometers (750 sq mi).

[1] The town of Alatyr serves as its administrative center, despite being incorporated separately as a town of republic significance—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts.
