Alavus (Swedish: Alavo) is a town and municipality of Finland.

Neighbouring municipalities are Alajärvi, Kuortane, Seinäjoki, Virrat and Ähtäri.

Most of the industry in Alavus is related to construction: materials, design and contractors.
