It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region, 59 kilometres (37 mi) southwest of the city of Seinäjoki.
[7] On the border of the Kauhajoki and Isojoki is Lauhanvuori, one of the highest points in Western Finland, which rises 231 meters above sea level.
However, the highest point of Lauhanvuori is on the Isojoki side, a few tens of meters from the Kauhajoki border.
