Aldford Lodge

[1] The National Heritage List for England states that the design was probably by Alfred Waterhouse.

[2] The authors of the Buildings of England series also attribute the design to Douglas.

It has two gables, each with pargeting decorated with foliated geometric patterns.

The windows have moulded stone surrounds; those on the ground floor have camber arches and on the upper floor the window arches are semicircular.

The whole building is irregularly shaped and this is emphasised by the addition of buttresses.
