Alessandra Iozzi

Alessandra Iozzi (born 25 January 1959) is an Italian-born mathematician known for her research in geometric group theory.

Originally from Rome, she holds Italian, Swiss, and American citizenships,[1] and works as an adjunct professor of mathematics at ETH Zurich.

[2] Iozzi obtained a laurea at the Sapienza University of Rome in 1982, supervised by Massimo Picardello.

[1] Her dissertation, Invariant Geometric Structures: A Non-Linear Extension of the Borel Density Theorem, was supervised by Robert Zimmer.

[2] Iozzi was named a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society, in the 2022 class of fellows, "for contributions to geometric group theory and the geometry of discrete subgroups of Lie groups, in particular higher Teichmuller theory.
