Eileen Alix Boyd-Knights (28 December 1944 — 29 August 2023) was a Dominican politician and attorney who was the Speaker of the House of Assembly from 2000 to 2020.
[1][2] Alix Boyd Knights was born in Dominica to parents Alec David Boyd and Eileen Marguerite Shillingford Grell.
By 12 years old, she had decided on pursuing a career in law.
[4][5] Upon her election to a third term on 4 February 2010, she became the longest serving Speaker in Dominica's history.
[1] She had a Bachelor of Laws degree from University of the West Indies and a degree from Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad and Tobago.
