Ana Novac

Ana Novac (June 21, 1924/1929[1] – March 31, 2010) was a Romanian-born writer.

[2][3] She was born Zimra Harsányi in Dej in northern Transylvania and grew up in Oradea (Nagyvárad).

Novac attended a Jewish school in Miskolc, Hungary.

When Nazi Germany took control of Hungary in 1944, she was sent to Auschwitz.

[3][4][2] Her journal was published as a book which was translated into a number of languages including French, German, Italian, Dutch and Hungarian.
