Anastase Gasana

Anastase Gasana (born August 5, 1950, in Gikomero, near Kigali, Rwanda) is a Rwandan political figure and diplomat.

After the Rwandan Patriotic Front under Paul Kagame had taken over the country following the Rwandan genocide, Gasana was appointed as ambassador in Washington, US, but did not take office as of November 1994, he was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs again.

As foreign minister, it was left to Gasana to defend Rwanda's reaction to the genocide and its involvement in the Democratic Republic of the Congo civil war to the international community.

[3] He left that position in 2003 and has been a teacher at the Savannah Country Day School since 2022.

He is the father of five: (From oldest to youngest) Michelle, Josephine, Christophe, Cristelle, and Serge.
