André de Maricourt was born on 4 December 1874 in Senlis, Oise near Paris.
[2] Maricourt wrote articles about the Armée des Émigrés, King Louis XVI, the jails in Paris during the Reign of Terror, the Duchess of Berry, and Cardinal Richelieu.
[2] Maricourt authored several biographies, including one of Marshal Ferdinand Foch.
[2] Maricourt won several prizes for his books from the Académie française: the Prix Auguste Furtado for Madame de Souza et sa famille in 1908; the Prix Marcelin Guérin for Louise-Marie-Adélaïde de Bourbon-Penthièvre, duchesse d’Orléans in 1917; the Prix Montyon for Idylle et drame.
[3] Maricourt was the president of the History and Archeology Society of Senlis in 1927.
