Anna Maria Vasa[a] or Anne Marie (23 May 1593 – 9 February 1600)[1] was a Princess of Poland and Sweden as the eldest surviving daughter of King Sigismund III Vasa and his first wife, Queen Anne of Austria.
Her parents' marriage was a political one, it was intended to tie the House of Vasa and the prestigious Habsburgs.
[2] As her younger brother Władysław, she was taken care of by her father's mistress, Urszula Meyerin (1570–1635), who was senior governess to the King's children and supervisor of Royal Nurses.
Anna Maria's mother died on 10 February 1598 less than three years after giving birth to Władysław.
