Ara Guzelimian is an American academic and scholar who served as the dean and provost of The Juilliard School from 2006 to 2020.
He is the artistic director of the Ojai Music Festival and continues at Juilliard as Special Advisor to the Office of the President.
Born in Cairo, Egypt, Guzelimian graduated earned a degree in music history from the University of California, Los Angeles.
During that time he played a key role in the launch of Zankel Hall in 2003 as well as hosting and producing the Making Music composer series there.
