Astria Regional Medical Center

Astria Regional Medical Center was a 150-bed hospital located in Yakima, Washington.

[3] On August 2, 1891, the Sisters of Charity of Providence agreed to take care of sick government workers and the residents of Yakima, thus creating Yakima's first and only hospital, a distinction that was held for more than 59 years.

St. Elizabeth's grew from performing their first surgery on a kitchen table in the 1890s to opening the first coronary care unit in the state in the 1960s and the region's first comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation facility in the 1980s.

The medical center is planning on being staffed by 80 staff from the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

[6] In 2023, the Yakima YWCA obtained the St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing building in the complex, and began converting it into a women's shelter.
