Atwood is a town in Carroll County, Tennessee, United States.

[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km2), all land.

At the 2000 census,[4] there were 1,000 people, 430 households and 304 families residing in the town.

There were 430 households, of which 24.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.2% were married couples living together, 11.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.3% were non-families.

27.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
