[2][3] He graduated from Bowdoin College in 1843 and studied medicine at Harvard University, receiving his MD in 1847.
[4] Upon graduating, Burbank returned to Yarmouth, Maine, and entered general practice.
[2] He was an early president of North Yarmouth Academy while Charles Chesley Springer was its principal.
[2] On 16 December 1871,[3] Burbank married Alice Noyes Thompson,[6] with whom he had three children: Hugh Eleazer, Marjorie and Maurice Augustus.
