Austroderia toetoe is a species of flowering plant in the family Poaceae and is native to the North Island of New Zealand.
It is one of five species commonly called toetoe in the genus Austroderia that are endemic to New Zealand.
Its leaves are prickly and straw-yellow or light-green in colour.
[2] Austroderia toetoe is endemic to the North Island of New Zealand where it grows from western Waikato south to Wellington.
It is common in freshwater swamps and wet areas.
