Back Creek (Rocky River tributary)

Back Creek is a 11.59 mi (18.65 km) long 2nd order tributary to the Rocky River in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

According to the Geographic Names Information System, it has also been known historically as:[1] Back Creek rises in a pond in northeastern Charlotte, North Carolina and then flows easterly through the northern suburbs of Charlotte into Cabarrus County to join the Rocky River about 1.5 miles southeast of Pharrs Mill.

[2] Back Creek drains 40.11 square miles (103.9 km2) of area, receives about 46.9 in/year of precipitation, has a wetness index of 439.32, and is about 25% forested.
