As a result, the album was only initially released outside of the country.

Following the success of the single "Quit Playing Games (with My Heart)" in the United States, the album was reissued in 1997 under the same name and released as their debut in the country.

The reissue also includes songs from the band's second album release Backstreet's Back (1997).
