[1] The Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) was established as a subsidiary of SOCAR[2] by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated 29 November 2011.
In addition to their specializations, all first-year students study English, computers and Information and Communication Technologies at a high level.
Instruction is conducted in English and in accordance with the requirements of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System.
[3] Baku Higher Oil School expects students to obtain practical experience along with theoretical knowledge.
[4] According to decrees of President Aliyev dated September 9, 2014, in the last two academic years (2015 and 2016) of 253 persons achieving the highest results on these admission exams, 34 students of Baku Higher Oil School (13.4%) were awarded the Presidential Scholarship.
The Higher School Library offers access to a range of study materials and computer facilities, as well as experienced professionals who can guide students to the right sources of information.
