The project was lauded by several journals and outlets, especially the online website Heritage 1960[7] In 2015, Bakwa was part of #100DaysofAfricanReads, a social media project curated by Angela Wachuka, executive director of Kwani?, which entailed "a series of portraits on books, writers and readers, over a 100 day period ... highlighting the work of an African author in print and online".
[9] In 2016, thanks to a partnership with Goethe-Institut Kamerun and Phoneme Media, Bakwa launched a one-off short story competition open to Cameroonians under 39 years.
