Most of the stories originally appeared in the magazines Astounding, Future, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, Fantastic, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Galaxy Science Fiction, Fantastic Universe and Worlds of Tomorrow.

The poems first appeared in The Final Encyclopedia.
