The Berchtesgaden Chancellery Branch office (also "Little Reich Chancellery") in Bischofswiesener district Stanggaß was built between 1937 and 1945 after plans by Alois Degano as the second seat of government of Nazi Germany for the time of Adolf Hitler's presence on nearby Obersalzberg.

Parallel to the stays in the Berghof, on the Obersalzberg Adolf Hitler took advantage of the working areas of the "Little Chancellery" to write a total of about 125 laws and regulations.

From 1937, the head of the Reich Chancellery Hans Heinrich Lammers, the department head of "Department A" Willy Meerwald and other officials in the summer months performed their duties in the office Berchtesgaden.

U.S. General Omar Bradley was chauffeured in one of the vehicles from Hitler's fleet on the grounds to accept a tribute call of U.S. soldiers on site and awards.

From 1996, the Federal Republic could dispose of the property and sold it to a group of private investors.
