Berlin Township, Ionia County, Michigan

[3] Berlin Township was organized in 1839 with Alonzo Sessions as the first supervisor.

As of the census[1] of 2000[update], there were 2,787 people, 689 households, and 547 families residing in the township.

There were 724 housing units at an average density of 17.4 per square mile (6.7/km2).

There were 689 households, out of which 36.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.7% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.6% were non-families.

17.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
